Reply Path Options

touchSMS allows for replies ON or OFF to your messages. Here’s how:

1. Navigate Send SMS

 

2. Your Message Composition tools appear on the right of your message sending screen under Sender ID.

 

3. Use the From to select your reply option.

NOTE: Your default sending country will determine what options are available for Sender ID. The below example is based on sending to Australian numbers.

  • Shared Number (replies to platform/email)

Uses a rotating pool of mobile numbers to send your message from. This option allows recipients to reply to your message and is free of charge. Messages are sent from a different number each time. Replies from these messages will be recorded in the Web Inbox and Report.

  • Virtual Number (replies to platform/email)

If you have purchased a Virtual Number for sending SMS/MMS, this option will appear in the dropdown. This option allows you to send from the same number each time and receive replies from your recipients. Contacts are also able to “text in” to this number any time as it is exclusively yours for the period you pay for it. Replies and text in messages will be recorded in the Web Inbox and Report. You can elect for a copy of replies to be sent to your email.

  • Alphanumeric Sender ID (no replies)

If you have submitted an Alpha Sender ID for registration and it has been approved, this option will appear in your Sender ID list. Recipients are not able to reply to these messages.
