Splynx supports SMS notifications through external SMS gateway providers. By connecting Splynx to the touchSMS API, you can send SMS notifications directly from the Splynx CRM to your customers.

This guide explains how to configure Splynx to send SMS messages using your touchSMS account.


Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have the following:

  • An active touchSMS account

  • Your touchSMS API credentials

  • Administrative access to your Splynx server

  • Access to edit Splynx configuration files


Step 1 – Obtain your touchSMS API credentials

You will need the following information from your touchSMS account:

  • API Access Token

  • API Token ID

  • Your verified Sender ID or Virtual Number

These credentials allow Splynx to authenticate with the touchSMS messaging platform.


Step 2 – Configure the Splynx SMS gateway

Splynx allows custom SMS providers to be configured via its SMS gateway settings.

The configuration example shows how to:

  • Configure the touchSMS API endpoint

  • Provide authentication credentials

  • Set the sender ID

  • Format SMS requests from Splynx

Follow the configuration example and update the required fields with your own touchSMS account details.


Step 3 – Test the integration

Once the configuration has been saved:

  1. Log in to your Splynx administration panel

  2. Navigate to the SMS settings

  3. Send a test SMS to a mobile number

If configured correctly, the message will be sent through the touchSMS API and delivered to the recipient.


Step 4 – Configure SMS notifications

After confirming SMS is working, you can configure Splynx to send SMS notifications for various events.

Common examples include:

Invoice Notifications

Notify customers when an invoice is generated or approaching its due date.

Example SMS:

Reminder: Your invoice is due soon. Please log in to your customer portal to make a payment.

Payment Confirmations

Send confirmation when a payment has been received.

Example SMS:

Thank you. Your payment has been received and your account has been updated.

Network Outage Alerts

Notify customers if there is a service disruption in their area.

Example SMS:

Service Alert: We are currently investigating a network issue affecting your area. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue.

Appointment Reminders

If technicians are scheduled through Splynx, you can notify customers about upcoming appointments.

Example SMS:

Reminder: Your technician appointment is scheduled for tomorrow between 9am and 11am.

Troubleshooting

If SMS messages are not being delivered, check the following:

  • API credentials are correct

  • Sender ID or number is configured correctly

  • The Splynx server can reach the touchSMS API endpoint

  • Message formatting matches the API requirements

You can also check the touchSMS dashboard for message delivery logs.
