Troubleshooting
When facing an issue with touchSMS showing a blank screen in the Microsoft Outlook task pane, firstly confirm the app works properly in web version of Outlook.
Essentially, the App opens a small browser in the task pane which can be affected by usual browser versioning issues – specifically those with Edge or Explorer.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
General Troubleshooting:
Clear Office Add-in cache:
Restart Outlook.
Right-click anywhere in the touchSMS task pane and select “Refresh.”
If that doesn’t work, go to File > Options > Add-ins.
Select “Manage” dropdown box and choose “COM Add-ins”.
Uncheck the touchSMS box, click OK, and restart Outlook.
Go back to Add-ins, check the touchSMS box, and click OK.
This should clear the cache.
Check Internet Explorer security settings (if applicable):
touchSMS add-in might use functionalities from Internet Explorer for some tasks.
Open Internet Explorer > Internet Options > Security tab.
Click “Trusted Sites” and add the touchSMS website address.
Click “Custom level” and under the Scripting section, ensure “Active Scripting” is enabled.
Restart Outlook.
Advanced Troubleshooting:
Run Outlook in Safe Mode:
Start Outlook holding the CTRL key.
If touchSMS works in Safe Mode, another add-in might be causing the conflict.
Disable unnecessary add-ins one by one to identify the culprit.
