When a Virtual Number on your touchSMS account expires or is cancelled, it is automatically returned to the carrier. In some cases, you may wish to have that same number reactivated. This process is known as Reprovisioning or a Rebound Request, and it may attract a Rebound Fee.
Why a Rebound Fee Applies
Once a Virtual Number has been released back to the carrier, touchSMS cannot guarantee that the same number will still be available for purchase.
Availability depends on:

How long ago the number was cancelled or expired

Whether the carrier still has the number in their inventory and can reprovision it
If the number is still available, touchSMS will submit a reprovisioning request to the carrier on your behalf. This request incurs a Rebound Fee, which is a charge applied by the carrier to reinstate a previously released number.
Reprovisioning Process
If you request to have a cancelled or expired Virtual Number reactivated:

touchSMS will check with the carrier to confirm whether the number is still available.

If available, we’ll request that it be re-provisioned to your account.

Once reprovisioned, you’ll be notified by touchSMS that the number has been successfully reactivated.
Fees & Billing
If your Virtual Number can be reactivated, an invoice will be issued to your account.
This invoice will include:

1 month rental fee for the Virtual Number

$10 Rebound Fee for the re-provisioning process
Once payment of the invoice has been made, your Virtual Number will be reactivated on your account and ready for use.

Rebound Fees are only applicable when a previously cancelled or expired Virtual Number is successfully reprovisioned.

touchSMS cannot guarantee number availability — this depends solely on the carrier’s inventory.

If the number is no longer available, our team can assist you in selecting a new Virtual Number for your account.
